What is the Best Cosmetic Dental Option for You?

At Totally Dental, we offer a wide range of cosmetic dentistry services to help our patients get the smile of their dreams. Cosmetic dentistry can do more than enhance your smile; it can boost your confidence and even benefit your oral health as well. The type of cosmetic dentistry that is right for you depends on what aspect of your smile you wish to improve. Here are some of the most common cosmetic dentistry procedures performed by our dentist near you.

Teeth Whitening

Professional teeth whitening in NE Calgary is an excellent and minimally invasive cosmetic dentistry treatment that can brighten your smile and remove discoloration. While there are many over-the-counter options for teeth whitening, such as gels, strips, and trays sold at the drugstores, the most effective, safe, and convenient way to whiten your teeth is to visit a dental clinic. A dentist can whiten your smile by up to 10 shades in just one visit and ensure that your teeth and gums remain safe from irritation.

If you have crooked teeth, the chances are that you’ve looked into your options for aligning treatment, and you may have heard of Invisalign. Invisalign in NE Calgary uses a series of clear and removable aligners that work to slowly move your teeth into the optimal position. For those who want to align their teeth but do not find the idea of metal wires and brackets appealing, Invisalign is an excellent choice. However, it is important to note that Invisalign is not a viable treatment option for everyone and is better suited to correct mild to moderate misalignment problems. Speak to your dentist to determine if you are a good candidate for this innovative aligning treatment.

Dental Veneers

Dental veneers are shells that are usually made out of porcelain. These thin shells are bonded to the fronts of your teeth by an experienced cosmetic dentist in NE Calgary. Dental veneers work to cover minor cosmetic imperfections in your smile, such as stains, cracks, and chips. Celebrities and talk show hosts often use them to provide a stunning and sparkling smile. Dental veneers are a permanent decision, so ensure that you are positive you want to move forward with the procedure before committing to it.

Dental Crowns and Bridges

Dental crowns are tooth-colored caps that are placed over damaged or weakened teeth to strengthen and support them. Most of the time, these caps are made from porcelain or metal. In addition to enhancing the appearance of your teeth, they also protect them from harm. Dental bridges are dental restorations that work by adding an artificial tooth into the mouth with the help of dental implants or adjacent teeth. They work to fill gaps in one’s smile and restore their speaking, chewing and biting function.

We continue to receive several emails and phone calls from our patients eagerly waiting to schedule appointments. We anticipate opening the office very soon for emergency and non urgent dental care very soon. I have been taking steps to ensure a high level of safety for our staff and patients once we are open.

We will limit the number of patients in our office at any one given time and make sure that social distancing between patients is followed as recommended by Dr. Hinshaw (Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer) and the Alberta Dental College.

Germs and viruses can spread easily so we want to make sure we are doing our part to protect our patients and staff through prevention measures. We will be having mandatory protocols in place for hand washing, sanitization of workspace and our staff wearing masks.

There will be limited staff available and we will make our best efforts to answer phones from 9am to 1:00 pm from Monday to Thursday to schedule emergency and non urgent dental care. If we do not answer your call please understand that we are assisting another patient or feel free to text me at 403-703-1914.

Please know that the safety of our patients and staff is our highest priority. We want you to feel comfortable the next time you visit our office knowing that we have taken the steps to protect everyone.
